I was talking to someone, today, and I was asked about mythology. His interest was peaked by my re-reading Joseph Campbell's The Hero with a Thousand Faces. His question was, what is mythology? I tried to explain that it was nothing more than theology and philosophy. The asking and answering of questions pertaining to the study of one's spiritual life. He looked at me as if I was speaking Spanish. So, I told him that it was Fairy Tales for adults. This resonated with him, but he then asked me, if I thought that the people were confused enough without mythology. I told him it quite the opposite mythology gives stability as fairy tales gave to us when we were children. We, mythologists, help with everything from rites of passages to journeys of a thousand steps within.
His question did get me to thinking. Story or reality, what comes first? In my humble opinion, story must come first. Look at the society of the world and one can see the absence of story, of a focal point, a goal. But then I think, where does story come from? Again, in my humble opinion, we get our stories from the collective energetic thought pool. That big jar with characters, plots, stories, and dramatic questions in it. For is it not the artist who pulls from the Creator who become a creator. Meaning, I'm back at square one with the question. The truth of the matter is the process of storytelling rises from within. Theme, when written correctly, will always present a valid point regarding life. I mean there are only four themes anyway. My favorite and probably the favorite of most mythologists is man v god. There can be no man v man without surrendering to the fact that, if science or Jehovah, you have a god; then and only then are you able to wrestle with this being. Otherwise, we have straw men arguments that no one wants to read. Then there is the message, that must be premeditated in delivery better than foreshadowing. Truth of the matter is there is a reality that lies dormant in the story until the writer chisels it out. Constantly homing in on what is it that is trying to be told. Because the true mythologist has an ear for story on top of her hours learning the craft and its theories. With that said, no, there is no way we can confuse the public by telling well-constructed myths. But the shit ain't easy! There is the bottom-line of how well of an experience the writer has provided. Has she entertained, explained, and expanded the mind of the listener? Is experience according to the standards and intentions of mythology? No mythologist worth their weight in gold or salt would forget that the final product needs to answer these two questions: is it a story and is it reality. It's the chicken and the egg question. What comes first the story or the religious reality? There will be no answer. There should be no question; because it's only those looking outside who dare to ask so. With that said, we've wasted valuable time on this issue. Time to return back to work and to design my current story that will be constructed to look like reality. Thanks for Listening! There is no doubt about it, I am an apprentice. Does this mean that I shouldn't be listened to? Do I have to prove my talents and gifts for the slaying of words first? As a renaissance mythologist, I believe that it is the voice of the young that will lay the foundation on this theology and philosophy thing to come called myth reborn. Yeah, we may lack technique, but we also lack the conditioning which more advanced writers may have. We know that religion is supposed to be kept in the closet during today's time/era; but we young mythologist (no matter the age) are willing to go places that are off limit. Tackling these hard to crack subjects. Pushing the limits of philosophy as the great Sumerians and Greeks did.
Mythology is nothing to sneeze at. This is the intentional creating of literature which will elevate the consciousness of the planet. It is the act of doing the Spiritual work first, and that takes time. But should we, apprentices, be listened to? That is the question. I say yes; because we are backing in on our careers. Meaning we have lived life first and then sat down to put pen to paper. The way writing used to be done. That is why living life first is the backbone of every good mythologist; along with some elbow grease of reading and writing on the issues of writing, theology, and philosophy. But the Spirits which walk and talk with us are guiding us. The sacrifice of being asleep to our duties or purpose have been made; at least by the true mythologist. We are Spiritual in the olden sense of the word. I have just completed the first installment in The Chronicles of Mow Yen and starting the second one. And although I could say that my reward is the ability to enter the workforce, finally after working 18 months on this one project (I want to be prolific so, 18 months is a little long,) that is not my reward. The Universe has rewarded me instead with information that will take my career a little further a lot quicker than if I would have continue going it along. Much of the information and people which I'm finding weren't around three years ago. The craft of written storytelling is being made available to anyone who wants it, and the teachings are by Masters, who haven't forgot what it is like to be an apprentice. The Masterclass is a thing now and in order to teach you must listen and most of the people taking the class will be toddlers at this stuff. That's something that a Master must have the patience to deal with. Including my reassured attitude and belief in my field and how it will be accepted if done with the artisan's eye and devotion. But ultimately when the student is ready the right master will come, temperament and all. Mythology isn't like YA; I've said that before. It takes a level of maturity to do it so, there is an exchange of gifts by the Master Journeyman and the promising young apprentice. I look forward to the continuation in the strengthening of my voice and evolving my network and community. Not to mention the expanding of the myth; as romance writing once did. All is good in the land of the Mythologist. Thanks for Listening! Sabrina Louise Andielle Since it is known that we cannot give something that we do not have, and as mythologists dealing with the various topics and situations, we have to know ourselves as individuals who are playing a role for the collective. Keeping this in mind will allow for our inner lives to "befriend" the outer world of our development as thought beings and storytellers, which will, I guarantee, awaken the imagination; making us catalysts of change. When that happens, temptation is certain to come. The temptation to try to do "it" on our own and not work with the energies of the future. But we can't do that! Falling to temptation is a no-no. We are the new shamans and a shaman knows their worth, who they are, and the dangers they face. Otherwise death will come to a real shamanic being who attempted to serve the Unseen, Unnamed, Creative One and the collective.
Constant reflection is therefore necessary as we cannot receive anything above our own level of vibration (frequency.) It's as if we are light bulbs and the collective pool which we pull from is the generator. This means we have to keep the filament tight. That comes with reading, writing, and discussion, not to imitate but to be genuine in our unique technique. You never know the strength of your identity until it is out into the world. What we offer is very important, we give freedom. And freedom isn't free; not for us or our listeners. As free thought beings, mythologists and listeners, need to put in some critical thinking. Challenge each other. Any storyteller worth their weight in gold not only gets better with time but have a stockpile of ideas which promote empowerment and freedom. I heard a new definition for freedom. "Freedom is the inward motivation to tame the raw spiritual power that is within and to harness our Divine potential while moving in the direction of our highest good." To become who we were born to be. And to go through the process of becoming who we are without outside resistance. For too long thought beings have been taught, no pain, no gain, well that is the most disempowering thing one can believe when it comes to evolution of the soul. Pain is not our friend and we as mythologist shouldn't be using it in order to propel our protagonist and antagonist forward. That's so slave race shit. No pain, I laugh. Another thing about knowing our identity; let not the coal which has burned our lips and tongue burn away the common sense of humility. There is something thinking us up as we think up our stories. Which is why it is not needed, or maybe during this era it is . . . but there is a fine line when it comes to putting truth into words; as we are steady learning. If our work is good the readers will follow us and not selective book recommendations from our body of work. On a personal note, I've been lost before. My understanding of the power of being a mythologist was underdeveloped. I knew not that I had to take care of the physical and the spiritual in my life in order to command the energies which were flowing through me. I wouldn't wish that on no one. So, again what you did to get her you must maintain to keep her. And I worked hard to get my identity as I'm certain you have. Thanks for Listening! Sabrina Louise Andielle Crow Crew With all my talk about the upcoming rebirth of mythology; I haven't dug deep into what I see when designing characters, and the journeys they must go on in order to add a new vibrational energy to the collective thoughts of the reader. So, let me start by saying, I believe that this world we live in is nothing but a simulation of information that was imprinted on each and every thought being in existence. We are not as individuals, or as a collective, the Source of our experience though we do get to decide when and how to experience our experiences. This fact is the core of my characters.
For too long, it has been said that we authors have little say in what goes on in our novel. That we as gods or creators of an imaginary, far reaching, world which we share with our reality, have no sway over what is going to happen in them. That we are writing with one headlight in the fog, even after we've completed the first draft. Bullshit! Is there any wonder why novels are recycling stories, with that mentality? We as reflective creator gods, have to put our foot down like all powerful people do. We have to tell our characters that the buck stops with us. Once we gain that type confidence then we can do anything. And by anything I'm suggesting we fulfill the need for a new style . . . I mean hero. That is going to take some getting used to but let's look at what the Unnamed and Unseen Creator God is sending through the gridlines. We can do this not by what anyone says but what everyone say. First, we say we are spirits having a material experience. Yet, we have forgotten that to be spirits we must become Spirits. That ain't easy. Which means, mythologist, that we have something to write about right there. Second, we say we are gods, not God but in God which makes us gods. No one has really defined how to learn how to be gods because it takes a god to raise a god. What are we? Mythologist, we are gods . . . creator gods; especially when we are on our own spiritual adventure. Hence another thing to write about. Third, we say we are immortal. No one speaks in common language of immortality as if we were immortals. Sounds like a job for a few mythologists. Lastly, for the sake of space, we say we are lightworkers from the stars. How many stories can you think of, mythologist, which touch on this subject. Remember I have stated that if we do our job correctly, the publishing houses will be knocking down our doors. Because no matter what, we must still tell a good story. Just like life within this thought simulator, the rules and understanding of the basic principles have been laid out for us. We know there is a beginning, a middle, and an end. Hopefully we also know what goes in each section and not just a beginning, middle, and end. We know that there is a greed, a hunger, for stories which takes readers to superhero status in places far, far away or in the next big city. Upon accompanying the author on an adventure of a divine character created just for them- or at least feels that way, they will be craving for more. We are guides, way-showers, and until we embrace this fact, we will never be trusted with the raw material of stories covering subjects such as those four mentioned above. It's hard but it isn't difficult. As Denzel Washington said, "If it was easy," there would be no masters of the craft. As we are all at the bottom awaiting to rise, like yeast, know that embracing the craft and owning our mastery is what will convince the Universe to "give" us the chances we need. Because, we will have risen in vibration and the thinker behind the thought beings will rise to meet us. Always! Thanks for Listening! Sabrina Louise Andielle Crow Crew Let's for a moment play imagination. Now, let us imagine that what we write is Truth somewhere on some plane in some dimension. Let us say that we are the gods and goddesses that we proclaim that we are. That the bloodlines of those such as the Annunaki and the many members of global pantheons still pump through the veins of humans (and nonhuman alike.) Wouldn't that mean, mythologist, that we have a choice in our storytelling; just as those who deliver dreams to us have a choice in their deliverance?
There are two types of dreamers the Freudians and the Jungians. Here's a brief breakdown of the two. Freudians tell things which are to be healed and Jungians tell things which are already healed. Freudians tells what did happen and Jungians tells what will happen. And lastly, Freudians is victim mentality and Jungians is empowerment mentality. Personally, I am a Jungian. I'm certain that I don't agree with everything the man has said, but I don't agree with everything that Joseph Campbell said, and I support him still. Now combine those two paragraphs. We mythologist have to first discover what messages we are to deliver and to whom. A message can only be received on the vibration it was sent. You can't watch MTV on BET's frequency and vice versa. Once we discover what our individual frequency is then we will be able to churn out the messages as quick as our little hearts and minds can; and they won't land on deaf ears. Remember, those with ears to hear, as Jesus said. It will be broken down where the Freudians mythologist will be for the people who need to be warned and cooed and the Jungians mythologist will be for the people who needs to be rewarded and celebrated. There is no right or wrong, good or bad, there just is. There is the now don't let the descriptive wordings confuse you. I'm certain that these two men weren't thinking, "One day people will take our discoveries and used them in myths of new." So honor their intentions as we like our intentions to be honored. As far as what they did intent, I don't know. I mean they were once considered friends/mentor and mentee; until something or someone came between them. I believe that great minds don't debate but conversate, so it wasn't their difference in understanding of the messages from the gods but something more mortal in being. Anyway, as we daily sit before pad or screen in order to get a few pages done, remember that we are in fact delivering messages of how things are or how they should be. Don't flip-flop and know that there is an audience for both. Stay true to your path; stay in your lane. There is no need for bearing of arms when we all can just deliver what was delivered to us. Hope you keep this in mind when you begin sculpturing your latest and greatest masterpiece for someone somewhere. Thanks for Listening! Sabrina Louise Andielle Crow Crew When I first got seriously interested in writing novels, I was so gun ho. I wanted what I wanted, and I wanted it then. Of course, that was me in a lot of the areas in my life back then, but anyway. It would take many disappointments and much sobriety and maturity for me to understand the best piece of writing advice I got during that time. I was told to live. Just that; live. I didn't understand. What did he mean by live? I was in my early twenties, hadn't I lived enough? No, I hadn't; but I didn't understand that.
This realization, that he was right, would take many slow years in the making. I would have to barely graduate from college; I would become a mother; I would move across state from my son father; I would become severely ill in many areas of my life; I would have to unlearn what I had learned; but most importantly I had to get me a library of my own. All of these things, and more, took time, but they allowed me to live. And all the while I kept telling stories. Now, here it is I look back and I see that my living was my apprenticeship. I didn't know it when I was in the hospital for this hurt or that hurt, but now that I'm on the road to recovery I see things with clarity. It wasn't the situation that was molding me into a writer but the development of character that was molding me into a professional of living and that is what makes a damn good storyteller. In today's era, we feel that we can squeeze a ten year marathon in a four year sprint. No, not if you're going to be a writer of mythology. Young Adult Fantasy? Yeah, you can dress up your teenage years and call them miniature adult years; you know brain candy. But when it comes to changing the social momentum, you have better had test driven life for all that it got. Don't think that I don't honor the teachings that university and college give a writer. I know quite well that it takes this structured type of education to know how to deliver act one in part one and act three in part three. These are things that can be taught, that can be short cut and driven around. Understanding the advanced concepts of mythology cannot. Take the time to invest in your own library. The library system here in Ohio is beautiful, but even it is not my own as I can't pick up something in the middle of the night on any night I wish. Your own library will aid in and cut years off life. Hell, it may even make you a better professional of life than living life can itself, if you read correctly. You will be very wise to become a collector of books or you will be slow in your mythological storytelling output because of the wear and tear you have to put on your Soul. This is something I wish he would have told me in addition to live. But I did live and now I know. That is my quick advice to all who wish to be a mythologist, live and read. Be discerning in what you live and inclusive in what you read. Take your time because this is not a hundred yard dash. Know that your vibration is everything and will go further than your voice will. But most of all, stand in Truth because although time changes Truth doesn't. Thanks for Listening! Sabrina Louise Andielle Crow Crew It has been asked if we can and/or will grow into our upcoming new mythologies. Those questioning, wonder if the idea of individuals transforming or going through a transmutation based on the stories they hear, is a little too farfetched. Any creative writer worth their weight in gold knows that in fact we are already living mythologies; but they are the mythologies of yesterday. Apparently, the people who control the media is purposefully keeping humanity stuck in a vicious cycle of depending on their gods and goddesses of yesterday or depending on one's own imagination and understanding. Either choice will lead, has led, the residents of this planet into uncharted land and darken confusion. Why? Because, if you always do what you've always done, then you'll always get what you've always got, and to think otherwise is insanity. Not my kind of insanity . . . but insanity, nonetheless.
I believe, once again, that a new mythology is being birthed as we speak. That no longer will an individual have to depend on yesterday in order to manifest tomorrow. Instead, people will be able to be in the present moment and allow the tomorrows to manifest naturally. If there are Laws which every Life Form has to obey, then the Spa Planet: Earth has got to take the reins of its existence because what happened to Mars could very well happen to this beauty if we aren't careful. Consciousness is not a result of the mind, but the mind is a result of consciousness; therefore, the Universe is listening, watching even, and if we can destroy and start over so can it. We are about to enter in a 13,000 year cycle of light and enlightenment. That is the new world, that is the thing which frighten those holding on to the old mythologies. Black Bag Operatives are now on the ground and the battle for control of this planet will not be pretty because . . . well it will not be pretty that's all. With our being in the physical positioning of light, someone of light has to present options of existence on the table. Is there anyone one better than the true creative minds, the novelists, the storytellers, these black ops maybe, to present the options. We know from multiple histories of this planet (I'm not too certain about Mars') that the ones who tell the stories rule the planet. This means that the fight will not be over minerals, paper, or land, but over the ones who can motivate the populous to get off their ass and strive for the minerals, paper, and land, or a higher spirituality and divinity. This is why I know that whatever mythologies come out on top will determine what direction we head in. And I bet cha, the mythologies of tomorrow will not be like those of yesterday, because the Slave Race will be freed, the Hosts of the Spa Planet: Earth will be trained by a consciousness outside of their own (the Great Mystery/Prime Creator,) and every one else will enjoy being here fulfilling their assumed purpose and intent. Mythologist will and have played an important role in the development of civilization, once again- thanks Plato. Always have and always will, tuck that away some place safe. It isn't the job of the mythologist that has changed but the subject matter, as well as the level of vibration of existence, not to mention that the races other than the gods and their puppet workers are starting to stir- they just don't know what to do or where to go yet and mythologist will show them. Again, always do what you've always done… that. So, like the "New Age" thinking has instructed, stay in the now, mythologist; because the shift in position of the Sun will shift the thinking of the people, as it has always done, and can't no one manipulate or entice the Sun by means of Bullshit. This is a tricky thing, being a mythologist during the dawn of the new age, the new time. But stand your ground because it gets easier. I promise. Thanks for Listening! Sabrina Louise Andielle Crow Crew There is an unwritten agreement between the mythologist and the reader/listener. We, the mythologist, will give understanding of humanity to the reader. This is different than explaining a concept. There is a degree of control the writer must have that the mythologist doesn't. During this time in history, having someone capable of explaining what's unfolding as well as what the upcoming stage of the unfolding should look like, is of the greatest importance to all who claim to be part of the global evolution, which can be labelled another age of enlightening, taking place now.
The bottom line about our position is we must be able to entertain a four year old as well as educate a forty-four year old. Mythology is gospel and we are the scribes who are receiving information for 2020 and beyond. This is an important step in the understanding of humanity- the species with 'amnesia." One which many humans have overlooked. Even the most spiritually attuned individual has not prophesized the coming of new myths. But we know better, right? I for one do not take this once in a lifetime, an era even, for granted. I used to wonder why it was taking me so long to complete Hour of Change. With the exception of discovering who was really rooting for me, I could see no advantage to holding a mythologist back. Living information . . . who wants to block that? We mythologist are the ones with the keys to the vibrational locks, for Christ sake. It's in our DNA and the recycling of information, dead information, will fall by the wayside until the collective has become drunk off our stories. From rewriting/rewiring the beginning to answering/executing possibilities, the new myths will do it all. I just hope that I'm able to live long enough to see the manifestation of the alterations, which will come, since our mythologies will therefore give the motivation to the next generations of Souls, Minds, and Bodies. But, of course, I believe that the living being is immortal whether by creation or co-creation. A living being which lives off raw information and processed wisdom will be first in line- if the mythology is right . . . nah, it'll be right. Here's to open hearts and dedicated minds of mythologist of today and tomorrow! Thanks for Listening! Sabrina Louise Andielle Crow Crew The idea that writing a story is simple and the author only need to take pauses here and there for fresh eyes is a fictitious telling in and of itself. The entire process is an emotional development of the author. Especially if one wish to develop the emotions of the readers. Unlike other writings which, for the most part, requires light effort for writers born with the gift of storytelling, mythological creations demand heavy bench pressing.
First, you have to decide on writing about something you know. Then have at it; which means opening up your soul and receiving a story about the topic which you've selected. As much as you may know about this topic, your first draft will be primeval soup. Some of it will have mass (meat to keep) and the rest will be liquid (soup to toss) but know that without the first draft there is nothing to eat; so, get your ears tune to the pitch of the Universe. Second, you have to see how your first draft can fit into the formula that has been agreed upon by the collective 'we' of readers. It doesn't matter that your delivered idea is original and has the philosophy to support it; what is key is that bread looks like bread that can be served on a plate and water looks like water that can be served in a cup. Third, you have to recompose your first draft into a final product. This part takes many tries and will change the texture and taste of your offering to the reading gods. But keep the first two steps close, constantly read and re-read your mythology until you know the story; now start rethinking what mythology means to you. Fourth, you have a final product which adhere to industry requirements at this point, so let's add in two things, the requirements of mythology and the requirements of compassion. Your writing is the food and/or the elixir for the community. Considering that you've experienced this journey that you're sharing, the sharing should come easy. It is your communal passion after all. Just as it feeds your soul, it should feed the collective soul. Your mythology should motivate or prompt others to get out and obtain what you gained. Finally, have faith that this new mythology will answer the pleas of the community. Then, be prepared to take that first step over and continue the process until you feel you can no longer stand and be a channel for the voice of Spirit, the voice of the Universe. Remember, mythologist spider, your job is to spin webs and change the flies caught on your web into independent spiders out there spinning webs with you. We are all one and that means that we are all spider-storytellers; capable of overcoming the largest of obstacles and calming the wildest of beasts. Thanks for Listening! Sabrina Louise Andielle Crow Crew I'm so excited. Know why? I'll tell you, it's because I know what I am. I wish I could tell everyone everything but I haven't reached everyplace yet. So, I will sit silently and knit my blanket just a little while longer. The rhythm is getting smoother, faster. I'm able to do more in less time. Okay, but what does knitting have to do with the Pointer Sisters?
The song about being so excited speaks of a burning love that they're . . . so excited about. They just wanted to squeeze and wrap their arms around their beloved. I now understand. I know that I mentioned in my last post the amount of work that I was putting into Hour of Change and how the thing was shaping up; but now I want to share with all the other writers striving for publication with a traditional publisher why to hang in there and really put in the time. As we carry on, things do get easier. Now of course I'm talking about writing novels. The more drafts you tell the more you know the story, the more you know the story the better you can tell the story; and a well told story sells. Boy, does it sell. Still, I'm not speaking of the manuscript part of this business. I'm speaking on the "paperwork" the Cover Letter, Synopsis, Bio, and Similar Books (name dropping.) Little history, like many, I was rushing to get my stuff out there, you know hang up my open for business sign; but I got nowhere, fast. That is until I was told that under ripe fruit is no good just like over ripe fruit. I had to sit and think about that. After a lot of soul searching and much rap music (love me some rap and RnB,) I decided to take down my sign and get back to the drawing board. No, things weren't as easy as self-publishing and I'm not knocking it because I was it. No things weren't as glamorous as when I first started working on this now 94,000-word monster which is going on five drafts, two revisions, and countless editing. But all that, the words repeated for the umpteenth time, isn't for the "work" of writing a novel. That was to learn how much I love telling stories and how much I was willing to learn how to write them. That, too, is what I'm so excited about. That is what make me about to loose control. Getting to know this story so well that I can answer questions about the story that I have, like why must I replace Satan with Amidas? What is the difference between a Earth Mow and a Saturn Mow? Why make Young Mow Yen's death so graphic? Things like that. I learned that if I ask myself these type questions, instead of what color hair does Mow have or where is Amidas most likely to eat, I will be able to deliver deeper story without losing my swimming noddle. Not to mention the reader's. I don't think that we as writers give enough credit to editing process. We just want that high of channeling a new tale. But if you want to be a powerful writer you better get the high of playing god down also. That's also why I'm excited. Playing gods enable us to write the 2 page synopsis, the cover letter, and know that if they are rejected then the fruits are not ready. I tell you the first night I was able to condense 160 pages of the story (roughly half) on one page, I understood why I had to learn to write summaries, which I thought were book reviews. If I can't write summaries then either I don't know or the story is not complete. That's all a synopsis is. . . a summary- professional but a summary. The Cover Letter is even easier to communicate. This is what I got, this is why I selected you, and here is my pitch. Thank you very much. Close that puppy. Slap an electronic stamp on it and send it on its way. Bio, just ask, why did I write this story? And the comparison should be easy because there shouldn't be any roommates just neighbors. Like eyebrows your book and others are sisters not twins. There is only one J.K. Rowling but my one line pitch is its Rowling meeting another author (see my previous post for who.) Yeah, I could have selected someone else but when you hear her name you think magic and I got magic. So I use her as a similar book. Tough for me, most of my books are non-fiction so I can't really say I'm sisters with anyone; but I know I'm not twin. Anyway, I digress. I just wanted to say that I'm excited about the fact I know this story, Hour of Change and I'm looking forward to discussing it more than selling it and that is a change in direction, that is a change in the heart. That is the foundation of my excitement and the start of a new joy in my heart. I'm so excited! Thanks for Listening! Sabrina Louise Andielle. |
