I know that it's been a while and . . . wait did I share that I was in the process of hunting for an Agent- officially? Anyway, I am, but that's not why I'm here. I'm here to share that I have tackled the parts of the hardest damn thing I've ever done; besides figure out what the middle of the story does. I've broken the darn novel synopsis down and it only took me two months.
See, in order to sale my 95,000 words, Religious Fantasy Novel, I have to pitch it in 2 pages. There is no way you can talk about Satan, Jesus, Zeus, Hecate, my protagonist Mow Yen, and Mow's Twin Flame, Po Li during the coming Age of Aquarius in two pages! Or is there? I got death, rebirth, devotion, traitor-like stuff, and a theme that states: if you don't repent (if you are a member of the army of darkness that is) there will be a blood price to pay and most likely it will be yours. This meant that I had a lot of Plot Points not to mention the sub-plots about true love between a male and a female; guardianship of the legal entry point of Earth; and stopping the rebellious angels throughout the Milky Way from entering the Third Density of Earth. I had a lot of head scratching during the brainstorming stage. Hitting the internet with all my divinely creative might, I was able to find a few examples of a novel synopsis. But, let me tell you, boy oh boy, I found much instructions. And those instructions are the mentors I listened to. So here it is. The synopsis is to be broken down like this: Start by gathering all the main plot points, forget about the sub-plots, I had 22 things that I felt had to be mentioned. Then the settings; again mine was a little long with 11 locations. Ending with the arch of the characters with a focus on the Protagonist. That's it mix, blend, and put together any way you want and you have a synopsis of 2 page length. I know! Like I said I'm dead but I'm alive. This formula is easy and it will get the main point across. Oh, one last thing; make everything sound like a story itself. Tell the beginning, middle, and end. Leave nothing to surprise besides the sub-plots. Once again, Thanks For Listening, Sabrina Louise Andielle
