When I finished reading the short tale of The Cricket I sat it aside and thought to myself, "That was cute and satisfying." I proceeded to go about my days for about five days then it hit me: We are all children having a dream of our being fighting crickets in the Chinese Royal Court and beyond.
Let me explain. In this four-page tale, a son of a would be big shot (except he is gentle and considered weak) broke something that was so valuable that the the father (the would be big shot) and mother really consider beating the tar off this little boy. But the boy falls in a well, yada, yada, boy wakes from a coma and tells how he envisioned he was a prize winning cricket while he was in the coma. Now, the thing is while the boy was in a coma his father (again, would be big shot) became a big shot because of the prize fighting cricket that he found near his son after his son went in a coma. That got me to thinking, what if this is a dream that we're having and that while we're here we're ranking up such things as golds, silver, houses, horses, silks, and all the food we can eat? The catch is that we've got to wake up after fully experiencing being whatever it is that we're doing in life. I don't care if you're part of the dark side! I don't care if you're part of the light side! Just as long as you're fighting for your dear life, because that's what the son in this story did. As far as the parents, couldn't that be your god/goddess? What parent a) wouldn't get angry at disobedience, b) wouldn't become sadden with the idea of lost, c) try their best to carry on and d) accept laurels for job well done? The parents never left their son's side except to live and I certain that Yahweh or any other Pillar God is doing the same. We won't know what riches we've brought them until we wake up. but that's part of the fun- having fun just to have fun. Or is it me? Am I once again reading metaphysics into a simple story? I doubt it; after all, it's all metaphysics. And bottom line, that son's consciousness was away from his body and none of us can say that never happens to us. Unless you go without sleeping, then you can claim to have control over your awareness at all time. Thanks for Listening! Sabrina Louise Andielle
